Area Lead(s):
- Andrew & Sam Kalicki (Everything & Mrs Beans 🫘)
Where the fun will be done:
- Inside & Behind Main Tent (never in cube truck)
When the shift is:
- Anytime before 3pm
Highlights of what’s involved
- This is done daily (AM – 3pm). Each morning, Sam and Andrew will get the day’s allocated amount of alcohol from the cube truck and place it behind the main tent on the staging shelves/tables
- Tour main job is to reset the bar (clean it, stock it with new alcohol and mixers, organize things, empty sink/drink buckets, replace cleaning bowls, and generally make as pretty as the attached photos)
- This shift also includes tending to the Tiki Bar…but really just making sure it’s not burnt down or completely out of booze. It’s the 17th best on the playa for a reason…
- New this year, we’re asking you to have this shift done by 3pm.
- This shift, while listed as 3hrs, realistically can be done much quicker depending on how you work…so if you get everything done? Please do a quick MOOP sweep of camp then promptly bugger off and enjoy the day!
- There will be laminated photos showing what the bar should look like when properly cleaned and stocked, please use as reference!
- Benefits of restocking shift:
- In the shade
- Set your own hours (morning to 3pm)
- Laid back atmosphere
SHIFT TO-DO’s

- Each quick well should have at least 2-3 bottles of each major liquor (aside Mezcal; 1 of each of those to start)

- Restock mixer containers in quick wells (can pour juices/syrups into the proper containers)
- Restock mixers on left and right halves of bar shelves (see photos)
- Clean around sinks and in quick wells (melted ice, spilled drinks, etc)
- Empty pour-off buckets to the side and under sinks in grey water tank near kitchen
- Clean back bar area and organize the fancy liquor
- Clean top of bar and organize menus (see photos)
- Replace bleach water/cleaning supplies on back bar (see photos)
- Take out trash & recycling; please replace with properly colored trash bags
- Clean any used barware items (mixing spoons, shakers, shot glasses, pour spouts, etc)
- Please also make sure to semi-organize the tiki bar and put additional alcohol back there (you
- Can use any half spent bottles from the main bar to restock with…doesn’t need to be fresh good stuff)
FAQ
- Do we ever need to go into the cube truck for things?
- No! Not without asking Andrew or Sam or their specific permission
- They will have everything allotted for the day staged behind the bar for easy use
- Where is the ice for restocking at night?
- In the life boat (shipping container) behind where we eat (in the rear coolers)
- The reference photos show ice in them, do I need to do that while restocking?
- No! Trick question. Ice is only needed to be put in shortly before opening (by the barback[s] that are working that evening)
- What if I can’t make my shift (restocking or bar back)?
- Two solutions…
- Be a radically self reliant adult and find someone to switch with or cover you (please let Andrew or Sam know ASAP)
- Let Andrew or Sam know ASAP and they’ll sort it out (only AFTER option 1 doesn’t work)
- Please NEVER just not show up…that fucks the people working that night and you don’t want to do that to a fellow camper 🙂
- Two solutions…
- Can I really do my restocking shift anytime from when I wake up to 3pm? And if I’m done early, that’s it?
- Absolutely! It shouldn’t take you the full 3 hours (plus it’s mostly inside in the shade) but please take pride in this portion of the shift and make The Gilded Lily shine
- If you do finish early, please do a MOOP sweep of camp (you don’t need to fill the 3hrs with this…but be a good camp mate and go from the front lawn to the back and do a quick sweep)
